Flex-Z:

The latest industry leading advancement in mold release technology from the bright minds at Zyvax. The Flex-Z Slipcoat SystemTM offers unprecedented control with a product line designed for varied rates of release.

A product that doesn’t require frequent reapplication is a time and money-saver… easier pulls and no damage to expensive molds or molded products…that’s a business-saver. To the bright minds at Zyvax, this was a no-brainer.

Built as an array of six resin polymers sharing a common root platform with a quantifiable spectrum of release coating properties, each Flex-Z product is formulated to control both physical and chemical attributes found in every polyester molding environment. The Flex-Z system allows the molder, for the first time in polyester molding history, to apply the level of release performance he chooses over an entire mold, or in each specific area of a mold or process.

Flex-Z saves on time, labor, materials, reworks, damaged molds and parts…it all goes right to the bottom line. Is that important?

Think about it…then call us.

EASY TO APPLY
Flex-Z does not require special training:
1. Select the Flex-Z product from the chart with the desired level of release.
2. Thoroughly clean the mold surface with Zyvax WaterClean or Surface Cleaner according to the products’ directions.
3. Apply a thin coat of Flex-Z on the mold surface using a new, clean 100% cotton 1x1 knit cloth (similar to the material used in tee-shirts) or HVLP-type sprayer. Apply Flex-Z in an orderly pattern until the surface is completely covered.
4. Allow a 15-minute cure time.
5. Repeat Steps 3 and 4 for a total of three coats, allowing 15 minutes between each application. (Additional coats may be required depending on the condition of the mold, your molding process, or molding materials.)
6. After the final coat, allow 15 minutes to cure before using the mold.
7. For touch up, apply one coat of Flex-Z, as above, when necessary.

To Adjust The Slip Level: Changes in slip level can be achieved easily in the whole mold or any portion of the mold. Select a different Flex-Z level and apply one coat directly on top of the previous Flex-Z product on the area(s) where the adjustment is desired. It is not necessary to strip off earlier coatings of Flex-Z when making this change.

PLEASE NOTE: It is not necessary to use a sealer in the application of Flex-Z; unless, the mold is new, repaired or the surface of the mold is deteriorated.
