The University of Nevada, Reno chapter of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers and the 2006 Human Powered Vehicle Team would like to thank you for the generous donation of your mold preparation system. The Waterclean , Sealer GP, and Enviroshield combination is by far the best composite release system we have used for our projects.

This year, the team entered "Silver Bullet" into the Human Powered Vehicle Challenge held at Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo. The vehicle was entered in two separate categories. The first category, Utility, tests the vehicle's practicality as an everyday commuting/utility vehicle. Of the nine competing teams, UNR placed 2nd in design, 2nd in the race, and 2nd overall. The second category entered, Single Rider, tests the vehicle's and the team's speed and endurance capabilities. Of the 24 teams entered in this category, UNR placed 10th in design, 4th in speed (41.3 mph), 8th in endurance, and 7th overall. We are very satisfied with these results and realize our successful performance is a direct result of the support from our sponsors.

Thank you again for your generous support. It is greatly appreciated.

Sincerely,
Kevin Tibbs

Composite release agent: Solid solution for Marble Masters

composite release agent

Cultured marble manufacturer, Marble Masters, one of the leading manufacturers of cultured marble kitchen and bath products in the Southeast, routinely encountered composite release problems related to the bane of their industry, abrasive materials used in solid surface molding applications. Our composite release agent EnviroShield, a totally solvent-free mold release, was a solution that even worked in older molds worn by abrasives and significantly improved multiple pull performance-critical for solid surface molding. Composite release agent EnviroShield also helps Marble Masters turn out a more aesthetically pleasing end product, with improved "shine" on the mold giving their parts more luster.

Mert Hall, CEO of Tecton and a pioneer in the development of dome housing, used our solvent-free composite release agent cleaner, WaterClean, in tandem with solvent-free WaterShield, this composite release agent decision saved dollars that went right to his bottom line.

Dome housing production uses an airform that is expanded prior to application of the composite release agent. After the WaterShield application, three inches of 3-lb. density rigid PUR foam is applied. The foam must be held tightly in place without delamination until it cures, the airform is then peeled away for the next phase of the process, a job made to order for WaterShield.  It gave the proper holding power during cure with easy mold release when complete. The time required to remove the airform was reduced by 90 percent with an additional benefit of no transfer thanks to the composite release agents used.  Ease of application, effective hold and release, no VOCs, faster form removal, no cleanup and efficient coverage that saves on material cost, now combine to equal significant savings for Hall and Tecton when using Zyvax composite release agents.
