1960 - Zyvax CEO and founder Nancy Layman creates the first semi-permanent resin-based release coating – an industry first – that enabled molders from all industries to increase production while reducing costs and improving the quality of their molded parts.
1987 – Zyvax’s team of chemists and scientists formulates a new generation of semi-permanent release coatings to provide even better performance without any hazardous materials or volatile organic compounds (VOCs). These were the first-ever waterborne, cross-linking polymer resins designed to protect mold surfaces while providing long-lasting multiple release performance.
1989 – Zyvax’s full line of non-chlorinated, solvent-based mold release coatings achieves breakthrough status as the first solutions to meet all government requirements.
1999 - The WaterWorks Aerospace Release System debuts – a comprehensive slipcoat system that meets aerospace production requirements while eliminating all pollutants.
2001 - WaterWorks wins the Worldwide Innovation Award as BEST MOLD RELEASE at JEC-PARIS
2002 - WaterWorks earns AQMD CERIFICATION as the only mold release coatings system to meet air quality management district standards.
2004 - Flex-Z a groundbreaking family of release coating products that puts new, more precise control in molders’ hands by allowing self-customized levels of release – is launched.
